Frequently Asked Questions
Do you provide a service throughout England and Wales?
Yes I do. As most of my work is desk based I am able to take instructions from all over E & W and have travelled to court to give evidence and also done so remotely
Do you accept legally aided work?
Yes I do. I accept legal aided instructions and privately funded work.
Do you sub contract work?
No. As a sole practitioner I carry out all the work on an instruction myself and manage my work-load accordingly.
What are your turnaround times for reports?
My standard turnaround time is four weeks from the receipt of instructions and all material but I work collaboratively with solicitors to meet court directions.
Do you accept instructions at short notice?
Yes. I understand that circumstances will arise where there is an urgent need for an expert report and will accept instructions at short notice provided that there is sufficient time to deliver a full and complete CPR compliant report and prepare for possible testimony.
Do you offer free consultation?
I always provide quotations free of charge and obligation. I am happy to look over material and provide guidance without charge and will always advise when an enquiry is outside my field of expertise.
What are your terms?
This depends on the circumstances of the case. Legally aided work is due for payment once funds have been received after delivery of my report. Normal terms for privately funded work are 30 days after delivery of the report or of providing answers to questions in single joint expert cases. I reserve the right to request that funds are deposited with solicitors before delivery of reports.
Do you accept instructions for cases for which there may be an extended period before settlement such as in personal injury?
I will consider accepting instructions with extended terms and my fee will take account of that.
Do you accept instructions direct from the public?
I will consider instructions from the public or litigants in person.
Do you have professional indemnity insurance?
Yes I have an industry standard professional indemnity policy. I am also registered with the Office of the Information Commissioner for Data Protection and have Enhanced DBS clearance.
